AGW-Net Steering Committee Meeting, Bujumbura, 10 & 11 April 2013. Burundi.

The Africa Groundwater Network held its 5th Steering Committee Meeting in Bujumbura, the tranquil capital of Burundi. Bujumbura is situated on the northern tip of Lake Tangannyika.

This SC meeting sees a change in network management with Prof. Tamiru Abiye from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa taking over the helm from outgoing manager, Dr Richard Owen.

The Water Resources Commission of South Africa (WRC) is the new network host institution. The SC expressed its gratitude to the former host institution, the Institute of Water and Sanitation Development (IWSD).

The entire SC was present, except for Prof Daniel Nkhuwa, who was committed to a prior activity in Zambia. Kees and Yasmina represented CapNet at the meeting.
